All deliveries through Floriday

Processing deliveries through Floriday aims to create additional trading opportunities for growers and buyers, contributing to a sustainable floriculture sector. Discover the benefits of direct and clock deliveries through Floriday.

Royal FloraHolland (RFH), Plantion and Veiling Rhein-Maas (VRM) have jointly decided to phase out the Electronic Delivery Note (EAB) in 2025 and to process all deliveries for clock and direct trade through Floriday. The old EAB technology is getting in the way of new developments that will give growers and buyers more trading opportunities through Floriday.

Many growers still use the EAB to create a clock delivery. In the coming months, we will be working with software suppliers to make a new option available. Growers will still be able to work through their software package, but clock deliveries will be sent through Floriday instead of the clock-EAB.

Greater insight and new trading opportunities

By processing deliveries through Floriday, you can send out more detailed information throughout the entire supply chain. Examples include sustainability information and Track & Trace information. It also creates more trading opportunities for both growers and buyers. Royal FloraHolland is developing a new way of day trading (Floriday Daytrade), where growers can put their supply on the market early in the day and RFH's logistics can handle the smaller orders.

What does this mean for growers?

  • Growers who already send their clock and direct delivery through Floriday are doing so correctly.
  • Growers using a software package will continue to create clock and direct delivery through their software package, but it will no longer be processed through the EAB but through the Floriday API. Depending on the software package they use, a new update will be made available. Some software suppliers have yet to develop this, see the status overview below. Growers will be informed by the software supplier about the necessary steps and planned updates.

Frequently asked questions

Processing clock deliveries in or through Floriday offers more benefits for growers and buyers, both now and in the future. Growers and buyers have more insight into the processing of the order and more opportunity to include information with the order. Processing through Floriday also offers additional security compared to the current way of working (Clock-EAB).

The clock EAB is an electronic delivery note used to handle the clock trade between a grower and buyer. Clock-EAB is proof of delivery that the grower sends to Royal FloraHolland through its software package for payment of the clock trade.

The current clock EAB activates two processes simultaneously: a commercial process for supply for the clock and the logistical registration of delivery vehicles to the hubs. Because both steps are included in one delivery message, the information is only sent once the grower has prepared the delivery. This means that the sector is tied to an inflexible process, and, for example, auction pre-sales cannot start until the delivery has been processed by the grower.

If you organise your clock delivery through Floriday, you are already creating clock deliveries correctly.

If you work with your own software package and want to use clock delivery through Floriday, the first thing you need to do is ensure that your software package supports clock delivery through Floriday. An overview by software supplier can be found above. You can also contact your software supplier to find out if they already support this module and/or find out when they will support it.
