Last week, the first sessions about the follow-up approach of 100% Digital and the Floriday platform took place with market parties. The aim of the discussions is to determine which functionalities are still needed for users to work with Floriday and what can be improved. Approximately thirty software suppliers participated in the first three sessions.

The coming weeks, these sessions will also take place with the Members' Council, the FPC Chairs, Blueroots, Plantform, Flora Futura, VBW and SLB. Based on these discussions, we will define an approach in which users and software suppliers are given sufficient time to implement Floriday successfully.

The sessions consisted of two parts: sharing concerns and points for improvement, followed by a discussion of essential functionalities for the platform, and which of these functionalities should be given priority according to the participants. The sessions addressed mutual cooperation, the role of software suppliers in the development of Floriday, and the need for a clear roadmap and schedule.

Close cooperation required

André van der Linden, CIO of Royal FloraHolland, emphasised the common interest shared by Royal FloraHolland and software suppliers: “I would like to thank all participants for their honest input. All parties in the sector, including the software suppliers, are essential for a successful implementation of Floriday. Close cooperation with all parties in the market is in the interest of our members, buyers and customers of the software suppliers. I realise that I haven't invested enough in the relationship with the software suppliers. In conclusion, I need to engage in more dialogue with them in the future.”

Follow-up approach with enough time for implementation

The output from the sessions of the coming weeks will be included in the overall list that will inform the follow-up approach. André van der Linden: “It is inevitable that we will eventually have to make choices. In addition to further elaboration of certain functionalities, an important starting point for our approach is that growers, buyers and software suppliers are given enough time to be able to implement Floriday successfully. The intention is to present a widely supported approach at the end of March.”
